We are so thrilled to share the news that Kids On Bikes won the 2019 Gold ENnie Award for Best Family Game/Product! Awarded this past weekend in Indianapolis, The Gen Con RPG Awards (the “ENnies”) describe themselves as, “an annual fan-based celebration of excellence in tabletop roleplaying gaming. The ENnies give game designers, writers and artists the recognition they deserve.”
We couldn’t be happier to share this award with designers Jonathan Gilmour and Doug Levandowski, artist Heather Vaughn, and our co-publishing partners Hunters Entertainment.
A collaborative storytelling roleplaying game, in Kids on Bikes, you'll take on the roles of everyday youngsters grappling with strange, terrifying, and very, very powerful forces that they cannot defeat, control, or even fully understand. The only way to face them is to work together, use your strengths, and know when you just have to run as fast as you can.
”I'm incredibly humbled to receive this honor with the rest of the team! I've been in love with RPGs since I was a teenager, and they have influenced many of my board game designs. It was great to finally create something in this realm that has resonated with players and GMs!” said Jon Gilmour.
Doug Levandowski added, “When Jonathan and I started working on Kids on Bikes, we just knew we were making a game that we wanted to play. It has been humbling to have so many people want to play it, especially to hear that it has introduced their kids to RPGs. We couldn't have what we did without the help of Ivan and everyone at Hunters, Scott and everyone at Renegade, and, perhaps most importantly, Heather Vaughn for her incredible, evocative art. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way!”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jon, Doug, and Heather’s hard work acknowledged by the ENnie Awards,” said Scott Gaeta, President and Publisher of Renegade Game Studios. “The world and system they’ve collaboratively created is one we’re excited to invite gamers to play in, and continue to grow with more exciting game experiences.”
”We are extremely pleased to have such a gem of an RPG with such strong community support. We look forward to the subsequent releases for Kids on Bikes and give thanks to the many highly engaged fans who helped make this possible.” said Chris De La Rosa, Partner at Hunters Entertainment. “Congratulations especially to Jon and Doug who have created something that resonates so well with their fans and beyond.”
Kids On Bikes is available at retail stores everywhere and on Drive Thru RPG, along with its supplement, Kids on Bikes: Strange Adventures Vol. 1. Teens in Space, a game powered by the Kids On Bikes System and a sequel to Kids On Bikes, premiered at Gen Con and will be in retail stores at the end of August.
