B-Movie Horror - Fun, but not Terrifying
These are two fantastic titles that bring the camp to the table, with the bravado that only B-movies can.
While it’s not horrifying in the traditional sense, ClipCut Parks is a delightful (and innovative) take on the roll & write genre: instead of writing, you’re cutting!
For many gamers, the idea of cutting up your game is a pretty terrifying one, so a game that includes 4 pairs of scissors with which you can cut up your game can be a pretty scary prospect.
Furthermore, the box cover does skew a little bit towards B-movie horror camp.
ClipCut Parks’ Horror Rating: 🎃 - 1/5
Terror Below goes deeper into B-movie fun, with all the hallmarks of the genre including: monsters in form of gigantic creepy-crawlies, secret government agencies, and heroes who have to save the day against the terrors that lurk below the ground!
While the theme hits campy horror well, the gameplay is driven by a roll-and-move engine that makes it really accessible, light and fun to play!
Terror Below’s Horror Rating: 🎃🎃 - 2/5
The Pumpkin Rapper Faces Off Against Super-Powered Teenagers -
Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid
Following up B-movie camp, the new monthly scenario for Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid brings terror to the tabletop by way of challenging cooperative tower-defense gameplay and a couplet-rapping pumpkin. Jonathan Ying not only introduces the scenario for you to preview, as well as did a playthrough (while defeating & eating pumpkin-shaped candy) on Twitch earlier this week:
You can learn more about the scenario, including how to get the Kickstarter-exclusive Deluxe Box containing Pumpkin Rapper and the terrifying Eye Guy right here!
Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid Halloween Havoc Scenario’s Horror Rating: 🎃🎃, plus a a bonus 🎃 point for having Pumpkin Rapper because his rhymes are terrifying - 3/5.

Discover the Terrors you will Summon in Gates of Delirium!
In Gates of Delirium, you’ll straddle the border of sanity, as a sane investigator trying to get to the bottom of ancient and arcane mysteries of the gates which unleash horrifying monstrosities from another dimension into this world. The twist? You may well be the architects of these gates! The Top of the Table series on Game Informer described the gameplay:
In every round of Gates of Delirium, one of the players decides whether it’s a sane or insane round. You play the same characters, but with differing goals depending on your current state of madness. Your action cards depict two options, and you can only play the side that corresponds with your current perspective on the world. It’s an alluring and strange mix of gameplay conceits, and it’s great fun to effectively fight against your own machinations and compete against the other players for victory.
