Renegade Game Studios Partners with Foxtrot Games to Co-Publish Lanterns: The Harvest Festival

Place tiles, adorn the palace lake, and dedicate lanterns in this beautiful, fast-paced board game set in imperial China.

 San Diego, CA (January 12, 2015) — Renegade Game Studios™, the premier publisher of original games has entered into a partnership with Foxtrot Games™ to co-publish their Kickstarter hit, Lanterns: The Harvest Festival.

Lanterns: The Harvest Festival is a tile placement game set in imperial China.  Players act as artisans decorating the palace lake with floating lanterns.  The artisan who earns the most honor before the festival begins wins the game. 

Lanterns’ elegant and engaging gameplay by designer Christopher Chung features a unique perspective-based mechanic that forces players to balance the benefits they receive from placing tiles with the benefits they give to the their opponents.  It’s a give and take that provides hours of depth and strategy.

On a turn, a player places a tile depicting various lantern arrangements, and every player receives lantern cards based on the orientation of that tile. Players dedicate different sets of lantern cards to gain honor and favor.

Look for Lanterns: The Harvest Festival to hit stores in spring 2015.  Lanterns will have an MSRP of $35.  Each game includes 36 Lake Tiles, 56 Lantern Cards, 20 Engraved Wood Favor Tokens, 30 Dedication Tokens, 1 rulebook, and 1 custom wooden Fishing Boat.  Each game takes about 30 minutes to play and is for 2-4 players ages 8+.

The game will be featured during the Renegade Retailer Demo Seminars at the GAMA Trade Show in March and available for pre-order at the show. 

Lanterns will be supported with reduced cost demo copies for retailers, a demo campaign by Renegade’s Demo Team, and a consumer focused advertising campaign designed to drive gamers to hobby stores. 

Lanterns has also been accepted into the 2015 Mensa Select Mind Games Competition to be held in San Diego, CA. this year.
